Type your search term into the search box and press the “Find articles” button. The eReadUps engine searches a bunch of sites to see if there are any articles that you might want to include in your eReadUps, including top reference sites like Wikipedia, WikiTravel, MedPedia, and Wikia.

When the search is done, eReadUps provides an extensive list of articles that you might want to include in your eReadUps. For example, if you search on a geogprahical term like San Francisco, the articles list will include travel guides to the Bay Area from WikiTravel, information on the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from the museums wiki at Wikia, articles on the earthquake of 1906, the 49ers football team, and the San Francisco Chronicle from Wikipedia–over 40 articles in all.

If you are just visiting eReadUps, you can select any or all of the first three articles from Wikipedia to include in your eReadUp. If you are a member of eReadUps, you can select from all of the articles to include in your eReadUps. Just click on “More” on the search results list to see all the articles available for your eReadUp.

Once you have selected the articles for your eReadUps, press the “Build My eReadUp!” button at the top and eReadUps will fetch and format each of the articles, and collect them into a single eReadUp for you, with a fully linked Table of Contents for the entire volume, and equally functional links within each article. If you have selected a lot of articles, or if your articles have an unusual number of images in them, it will take a minute or two to pull it all together and adjust the formatting so it looks just great on your Kindle or other ereader.

After the “fetch and format” is complete, eReadUps offers you some choices about how to get your eReadUps transferred to your ereader:
- You can click on the link to the Mobipocket (Kindle-friendly) file or to the ePub (for the Sony Reader and others) file to download them to your computer and manually transfer the file to your ereader (or to read the article on your computer using ebook software).
- You can email the files to yourself by entering an email address in the box provided and pressing the “Send” button. For Kindle users, emailing the Mobipocket file to your kindle address at Amazon (yourkindlename@kindle.com) will activate the wireless delivery system and send the eReadUps directly to your Kindle. (Just remember that Amazon currently charges $0.15 to your credit card every time you transfer files directly to your Kindle.)
- You can access this eReadUp and every other eReadUp you ever created in your My Stuff page by navigating to the web address you were given when you signed up. eReadUps places a copy there so you can access your eReadUps from any internet connected device, like a computer of a Kindle. (Premium members only)
- Once you have accessed the formatted eReadUps file in one of these ways, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your ereader for connecting the device to your computer and dragging the eReadUps onto the device.
